Three generations, one Main Street store.

Since 1962, the Hollis family has kept Millbrook's shelves stocked and its projects moving — here's how a single hardware store turned into eight departments and sixty-two years of showing up.

How it started

Riverside Hardware opened on Main Street in 1962 with one aisle of hand tools, a paint counter, and a promise the Hollis family has kept ever since: never let a neighbor leave without the right part. What started as a single storefront grew, decade by decade, into the eight departments it carries today — not because a franchise plan said so, but because the town kept asking for more of what it actually needed.

Three generations of the Hollis family have run the counter since — each one adding a department, not replacing the last one's work.

Still family-run

We don't have self-checkout. We have Marge, who's worked the front register since 1994 and will remember your name, your dog, and your last leaky pipe. Half the staff have been here more than a decade — long enough to know which aisle the odd-sized bolt lives in without checking.

Why Riverside

  1. We fix the actual problem. Bring in the broken part. We'll help you find the right one, no guesswork, no return trip.
  2. We stand behind what we sell. If it's wrong for the job, we'll say so — even if that means a smaller sale for us.
  3. We're here when the town needs us. Storm's coming, first shovel's gone in October — we open early and stay stocked.
